This graphic novel is about a young Jewish girl (Julian from Wonder’s grandmother) who was hidden by a compassionate family in Nazi-occupied France during WWII. She finds an unlikely confidante in a boy she previously made fun of.
I read this graphic novel with my 10 year old daughter since she loved the book, Wonder. This is another in the Wonder series. I don’t think it was a as good as Wonder but it had a good message to honor the past and remember kindness. It was a heavier subject matter than we typically read but we really liked it. There’s also a movie coming out so read it before you watch the movie 🙂 3/5
