Grace travels to a Wyoming ranch run by Calvin. They quickly develop a friendship then a romantic relationship but Calvin seems controlling and smothering. He keeps alluding to the idea that the ranch is cursed – his parents died, then his ex-girlfriend, then there’s a pile of dead animals on the ranch and a missing woman report. Grace is essentially stranded at this ranch since her car broke down, there’s no phone on the ranch (weird) and no Wi-Fi.

I was waiting for a twist and eventually did get one but it didn’t leave me completely shocked. There was a good amount of gore in it also which I don’t love – for that reason I’m giving it a 3/5.

With all that being said, Jeneva Rose wrote my current favorite book The Perfect Marriage so I was thrilled to read this one and can’t wait to read more from her so be on the lookout!
