Millie just got out of jail (for protecting her friend but we don’t know that immediately). She’s struggling to find a good job and wants to stop sleeping in her car. So she’s thrilled when she gets hired as a live-in *Housemaid* for the wealthy Winchester family. She gets to live in their fabulous house and it all seems too good to be true. Well, that’s because it is.
Nina Winchester shows Millie to her room which is in the attic, which can only lock from the outside. Not a great sign. Another not great sign is the scratch marks seemingly from the previous tenant of that room.
Nina seems to be bipolar, constantly either gushing over Millie or sending her on a wild goose chase. Nina leaves the house a mess for Millie to clean up. She sets her up to fail. Nina berates her in front of her snooty friends. Millie is fed up but desperately needs this job. The only saving grace is Andrew Winchester who seems like Prince Charming to Millie.
That was just Part 1. Part 2 we see things from Nina’s POV. And it all starts to make sense.
