Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner 2/5

I actually read this book a few years back but I’ve been re-familiarizing myself with some of my older books to review on this page. I remember loving it the last time I read it so I was excited to read it again. Maybe it’s because I’ve been introduced to SO many other great books since then but I didn’t love it this time around.

Jo and Bethie are sisters growing up in Detroit in 1950. Bethie seems to be ok with the status quo, becoming a wife and mother and taking care of the home while Jo wants to take on the world and bring justice and equality for all. Throughout the decades their roles seem to reverse. It was cool seeing all throughout the years and the different styles etc. BUT this book was so long, I mean sooooo long for me. 2/5
