Shay, Clem, and Laurel all meet in college under intense circumstances and become inseparable. They must find a fourth roommate for their quad. So, they choose Rachel, a quiet girl they don’t know too well. After a little bit, Rachel wants the girls to meet her dad, Don Rockwell. The girls become enamored with Don because of his confidence and his interesting view on the world. He takes them under his wing and shows them a world they can never unsee.

8 years later, Shay is living as a housewife in Dallas. She listens to a true crime podcast. It reveals that her old friend Laurel has committed suicide on the Whitney College campus, their alma mater. This news would be awful enough. It becomes super weird because Clem died the exact same way years earlier on the same campus. What are the odds?

*Lots of trigger warnings – sexual abuse, self harm, suicide. This book would’ve gotten a 5 from me if it weren’t so gory. I needed a palate cleanser book after this one. 4/5
