The Silver Sisters Series by Leila Howland (for kids)

I thought it would be nice to put the whole series in one post. This series is good for ages 7-12.

The Forget-Me-Not Summer #1:

Three sisters from California have to stay with their aunt in Cape Cod for a few weeks. Out of their element completely, they are forced to adjust to change and come together as sisters.

I read this book with my 8 year old daughter and I’ll admit that it didn’t keep my attention much but she loved it. I liked the fact that is was 3 sisters and takes place mostly down the Cape. The characters names were a mouthful but cute. This was our least favorite in the series at 3/5.

The Brightest Stars of Summer #2:

This was the second book in the series. Three sisters (Marigold, Zinnia, and Lily) are back in Cape Cod to prepare for their Aunt Sunny’s wedding to Tony.

I liked this book so much more than the first one. Coco’s review : ”I think it was really fun to read and I love reading it because it has a bunch of words in it that I never knew what they meant so I got to learn what they meant. And the book was also funny. “ This was our favorite in the series because of the excitement of the Aunt Sunny’s wedding. 4.5/5

The Silver Moon of Summer #3:

This is the third book in the series. The Silver Sisters (Marigold, Zinnia, and Lily) are back in Pruet, Massachusetts visiting their beloved Aunt Sunny. This summer is exciting because Pruet is celebrating its tricentennial so they get to help with the planning. The summer is also special because Aunt Sunny takes the girls on Marigold’s “Fun 14th” which is a camping trip tradition to celebrate turning 14.

This coming-of-age book celebrates sisterhood, friendship, family, and to be yourself. The only thing Coco and I didn’t like were the super long sentences. 4/5
