Chess and Emily are best friends, both writers – Chess a self help author and Emily is a bit more wayward with her writing. Chess suggests they go to Italy for the summer. Mari Godwick and step sister Lara Larchmont went to the same villa in 1974 with rock star Noel Gordon and up and coming musician Pierce Sheldon. The book keeps going back and forth between the Villa in 1974 and the Villa present day. There’s lots of love triangles, sexual fluidity, and violence.
I’m not going to sugarcoat it – this book was not good. I felt no connection to the characters and it was kind of confusing because of the parallels between the women then and now.

I’ll leave the link purely for continuity and consistency of the website- maybe someone will actually enjoy this book? If you do, let me know!
