The Bookshop by the Bay by Pamela Kelley 2/5

Jessica and Alison have been best friends since growing up in Chatham, Massachusetts. Jessica has since moved to Charleston and has a family – husband Parker and grown up daughter Caitlin. Alison still lives in Chatham and gets along better with her ex-husband now than she did when they were married. They also have one daughter, artsy Julia who designs jewelry and owns her own shop. Jessica and Caitlin come to visit Chatham for the summer and all of their lives are changed so much by the end of the season.

I didn’t love this book. It was boring, the characters kept running together for me. I kept forgetting who was the mom, daughter, grandmother. They just weren’t keeping my attention. Caitlin keeps talking about staying on the Cape for the summer as opposed to her typical week… but she says it like 8 times. At least that’s how it felt. It was an OK book but I just wanted more. 2/5
