Eleanor Sunderland is a 70 year widow living on Nantucket. Her daughter Alicia is a social climber who always wants more, more, more. Her son Cliff is a secretive bachelor who makes a great living but she worries that he’s lonely. But Arianna, oh, her sweet granddaughter Arianna is all she really cares about besides her home. Eleanors kids want her to sell her Nantucket house for $15 million and downsize but Eleanor refuses. Mainly because she wants a space for her kids and future grandkids to come visit.
This book was so similar to Summer Place -the grandmother has a beach house and a special relationship with her granddaughter. This went much quicker than The Summer Place. There wasn’t anything super exciting and the 2 books were so similar, I kept confusing them while reading. There’s even 2 characters named Ari in them. 3/5
