Another long ass Jennifer Weiner novel. There’s got to be a way for her to condense these a little.
Allison is sitting at the pediatrician office waiting for her daughter Ellie to be called in. A quiz in a magazine catches her eye and she finds herself wondering – does she, in fact, have a drug problem?
She started taking Vicodin then Oxy here and there to calm herself down and “get through the day” with her absent husband, demanding job, and difficult daughter. Eventually she gets up to over 6 pills at a time and has spent upwards of $10,000 sneakily on her habit. I’d say she might have a little problem yes.
I keep coming back to Jennifer Weiner because I do enjoy her books and this one was good, just very long. Her day to day sounds (almost) relatable to any mom but some stuff seemed a little far fetched. 3.5/5
