Chances are, you’ve already read this book and/or watched the movie. I have also but I wanted to read it again. Just in case you haven’t, I highly recommend both.
Nick and Amy are both writers who meet and fall in love in NYC. When his mom gets sick, he convinces his city slicker wife to move to Missouri so they can be closer to help take care of her. They both lose their jobs and are essentially stuck in Missouri. Their marriage has become strained and resentments abound. One morning in July, Nick gets a call that his front door was left open. He comes home to see what looked like a struggle in his living room and Amy is gone. Oh, and it’s their 5 year wedding anniversary. Of course, Nick is suspect numero uno so he needs to assure the police of his innocence.
The book (and movie) were just so so good. Twisted, crazy, but good. I loved Tanner Bolt’s character and the relationship between Nick and his twin sister, Go. 5/5
