Two estranged sisters’ lives and careers intertwine in this book by the amazing Kristin Hannah. Julia is a renowned child psychologist who has recently fallen from grace. One of her patients opened fire and killed several people. A lot of people think she should’ve seen it coming and warned the authorities. Older sister Ellie is a small town Prom Queen turned Police Chief. She gets married and divorced more often than she changes underwear. When a little girl appears 40 feet up in a tree with a literal wolf pup in her arms, Ellie calls upon her sister for help.
They work together with the help of the townspeople. Their goal is to find out this girl’s identity. They want to get her to talk and feel safe. And also, where the heck did she come from?
I enjoyed the book but in the end, it was just 3.5/5. I won’t give spoilers but there was a character towards the end that I assumed would’ve fought more.
