*Huge sigh.* Where to begin? First off, I wouldn’t call this a thriller, more like horror.

Claire and Lydia’s sister Julia goes missing in 1991. Instead of bringing the girls together, they become estranged. Fast forward 20 years. Another teenager named Anna Kilpatrick is missing. Claire and husband Paul are mugged on vacation and Paul is killed. When Claire comes home, she finds evidence that maybe Paul wasn’t the perfect husband she thought he was.

Full disclosure: Claire finds video of a woman being tortured, raped, killed.

The book is told from several different points of view. Chapters from the girls POV and their father writing in his journal to missing daughter Julia.

The book was good in the end but not good enough for me to forget the gruesome scenes anytime soon. Read it only if you have a very strong stomach.
