Megan Michaels gets a call saying to do what she’s told or her daughter will die. Just the prologue, but I’m intrigued.
Megan is a trauma nurse presiding over a brain injury patient named Caitlin Beckett. She is good to all her patients but pays special attention to Caitlin for some reason. She grows close with Caitlin’s parents after seeing them every day during Caitlin’s long recovery.
In alternating chapters, we read about Megan running into an old high school friend Natalie Cohen. She’s going through a divorce from an abusive husband and could use Megan’s help.
This was a very quick and easy read. Maybe a bit predictable. The ending was a little wishy washy.
3.5/5
