How many psychological thrillers start with this sentence: “Iris and Will are the perfect couple”? The answer: A lot. Which of course means they are not.
Will is a tech buff/introvert and Iris is a school psychologist in Atlanta. When a plane crashes from Atlanta heading to Seattle, Iris is scared for a sec. Will is traveling that day but luckily he’s set to go to a tech conference in Orlando, not Seattle-bound. But nope! Apparently he was on the Orlando plane. They’ve even recovered his engraved wedding ring. But why would he lie about where he was going?
Iris is in serious denial even when her parents want her to move forward with funeral arrangements. She starts to find notes around her home that could be from Will. She also gets cryptic texts so she starts thinking that he’s alive.
There’s a big cover up for a past that didn’t seem so bad. I didn’t really like the book until the last sentence.
