Daughter of Mine book by Megan Miranda

Hazel Sharp returns to her childhood home when her step father dies. Her mom married him when Hazel was just a kid, then Hazel’s mom abandoned her. Perry Holt is the only father she’s even known. Perry had two sons from his first marriage, Gage and Caden. All the Holt men – Perry, Caden and Gage – are cops in their small town.

In their town of Mirror Lake, North Carolina, there’s been an extreme drought. Because of that, the water level in the lake is going down. And it’s exposing things no one expected to be seen. A car appears in the lake at the beginning of the book. The car isn’t the only thing brought to the surface, if you know what I mean.

When it finally rains after 62 days, it feels symbolic. Like a dam breaks open and all the secrets are exposed.

This book was tough for me to get into. Maybe because it was hard cover and I prefer the kindle. So I was only reading it here and there when I didn’t have my kindle on my. It was just ok.
