The Perfect Marriage was one of the first books that got me back into reading. And it’s one of my favorites. So I was so excited to dive into this one!
The sequel picks up 11 years after the first book and the murder of Kelly Summers. If you remember from the first book, Sarah Morgan defended cheating husband Adam but lost the case. At this point, Adam has already been killed by lethal injection. But when new DNA emerges that may exonerate Adam, Sarah is thrown back into the spotlight.
Sarah is now married to Bob Miller and they have a daughter named Summer (odd? yes). Sarah catches Bob having a one night stand and they are now going through a contentious divorce.
When Bob’s one night stand goes missing, Bob rightfully thinks Sarah is involved and trying to make him look guilty. He knows what she’s capable of. So yes, it seems pretty cut and dry. But that’s never the case with Jeneva Rose.
There are details that definitely made my head spin. I do wish I re-read The Perfect Marriage first just to reacquaint myself with the characters and story. I prefer the first book over this one but it’s still a 4.5/5. This one was a bit Gone Girl-esque. And the acknowledgments say Sarah’s story isn’t over yet so maybe a third book in the works??
