This is the 3rd book in the series. I would suggest reading at least The One and Only Ivan first.

It’s mainly about Ruby and her background growing up. We read about the death of her mother at the hands of poachers. This was so sad. Understandably, Ruby is conflicted about her tusks growing in, dreading inevitable Tuskday.

I always love the short chapters. It was the same book as The One and Only Bob just from Ruby’s POV of course. The One and Only Ivan was the best one in my opinion with the other two falling just below.
