The book starts off with a woman hanging from a makeshift noose inside her mansion in the suburbs. There’s murder, a $20 million trust fund, deceit, and revenge. Nothing is really what is seems.

Simon and Vicky are an unhappily married couple in Chicago. Once they surpass 10 years of marriage, they stand to inherit millions. But not a moment before. Then they are free to divorce. Simon’s first love, Lauren, returns to town just in time to stir things up. Vicky starts to worry she will lose out on the money. So she hires Christian, a financial planner. She wants to find a loophole in their prenup. Basically, everyone gets greedy but who’s conning whom?

We read the story from multiple POVs, text message exchanges, and a personal journal. Great story, great twist.
