The Five Star Weekend book by Elin Hilderbrand

Hollis Shaw was raised in Nantucket by a single dad. Her mom passed away when Hollis was 2 years old. She moved to Boston after college and worked as an assistant food editor at Boston Magazine. She marries Harvard med school resident Matthew Madden. They live in Wellesley and have a daughter named Caroline. During Covid, Hollis starts a food blog which becomes extremely popular, called Hungry with Hollis. Once the blog becomes successful, her relationship with Caroline becomes strained. Caroline believes Hollis cares too much about her blog.

After a fight, Hollis’ husband dies in a car accident on his way to the airport. While grieving, Hollis finds this idea for something called a Five Star Weekend. She invites 4 friends from different eras of her life to spend a weekend together. 6 months after Matthew’s death, the Five Star Weekend is held in Nantucket at Hollis’ summer home. 3 of her “stars” are : her childhood bestie, her college roommate, and her best mom friend. For the last “star,” she invites an online friend named Gigi Ling, whom she confided in online after Matthew’s death. With so many different personalities, it’s interesting to see how everyone gets along or doesn’t.

It’s always comforting reading Hilderbrand. The characters are just always so well written and I love her books.
