Two women board an airplane separately. Jasmine Veronica has been saving up to escape abusive boyfriend Glenn. Stephanie Monroe is heading to a work conference.

Both women let friends and coworkers back home know they’ve met a man. The same man, Trent McCarthy. Both Jasmine and Stephanie start sending text messages to friends alluding to Trent being controlling. Needless to say, the people back home are starting to worry. In particular, Stephanie’s friend Robert is very worried. My god, he is relentless in his text messages, I wished I could block him myself.

The book is split up into multiple parts. Eventually we sees things from Trent’s POV. And let me tell you, this guy is a tool.

Jasmine is trying to start fresh with a new identity. She plans to steal Stephanie’s identity. Jasmine met Stephanie on the plane.

I was left with a few questions. Why are some characters so trusting of other people with their personal stuff? How many doppelgängers can one person have? The book was a little all over the place for me. I’m not sure what to think of it. So I’ll call it 3.5/5
