This sequel picks up 2 years after the first book. I would suggest reading Young Rich Widows first.
Four widows are forced together after their partners are killed in a plane crash. They’re struggling to keep the law firm above water. Community fuck up, Rom Romero, is the only actual lawyer at the firm. Camille is hired by Mayor Tom’s second wife to get some dirt on him. She chooses to do this in the champagne room of Meredith’s Luna Lounge. When Mayor Tom drops dead after drinking a few glasses of champagne, it looks like Camille and/or Meredith are responsible. But they have no reason for wanting him dead. So who does benefit from his death?
The firm’s only client, The Davenforth Family, is extremely wealthy. The widows struggle to hang onto them as clients since they’re desperate. The Davenforth’s want to create the “Paris of the Northeast” in Providence. Odd. Mayor Tom wanted to build a casino. All of this was meant to be on a Native American burial site.
So the suspects are Meredith, Camille, Nancy Davenforth, her entitled son Harrison, and Mayor Tom’s current wife Tara Jordan.
The first book was pretty good. This one wasn’t as good but still enjoyable. The cover is just so fun . I love that it takes place in Providence, so close by.
3/5
