Amelia’s husband, Adam, has a neurological condition called prosopagnosia. This means he can’t see distinguishing features on faces, even his own. This feels like information that will be useful later.

By the time Adam was 21, he sold the rights to his screenplay called Rock Paper Scissors. It’s about a man who writes letters to his wife every year even after she dies. Amelia knows Adam wishes his favorite story would be developed but it hasn’t come to fruition yet.

Amelia works at a dog rescue facility. Adam gets hired by famed Henry Winter to write screenplays for his novels.

They go to the Scottish Highlands to repair their marriage and stay at an old chapel. Then we realize they hate each other. Ouch.

It was definitely an interesting concept for a book. Some stuff was stupid. This couple would put anyone off marriage. They lie and deceive each other at every turn. And the other knows about the lies and deception so resentment looms large.
