Daisy Darker

Ah, the Darker family. Already the family name sounds ominous. Daisy Darker is the youngest of 3 girls and she was born with heart complications. The doctors don’t expect her to live a full normal life. So her mom acts like she’s glass and keeps her at home.

Daisy’s Nana holds a 80th birthday party for herself at her home named Seaglass. It’s on an isolated “tidal” island which I’ve never heard of before. Basically when the tide is high, no one can come or go. So the dysfunctional Darker family is reunited for Nana’s birthday. Everyone shows up. Daisy’s long divorced parents Nancy and Frank, older sisters Lily, Rose, and 15 year old niece Trixie.

Nana’s home has a collection of creepy clocks which go all go off every hour. When family members start dying each hour, it’s anyone’s guess who the killer is.

I’ve never read it but I heard it’s reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None. There was a little twist towards the end that I didn’t predict. I liked this book a lot and would highly recommend it.
