Murder on the Christmas Express

The idea of riding on a train for days seems so civilized but this train ride is literally anything but.

Several people on a train are heading home for Christmas in the Scottish Highlands. Roz Parker is the main character, an ex-cop whose daughter is in early labor. The passengers are an eclectic mix, including 2 internet/reality TV “stars.” The train has to stop because a tree falls onto the tracks. At that point, passengers start dying one by one. Roz takes charge since she’s good at investigating. But no one really knows who to trust.

To be honest, I didn’t know who to trust either. I feel like the first half of the book had such promise but she lost me on the second half. In the end, I barely knew who the real killer was. There were too many characters to understand what was going on. It was hard to feel a connection to any of them.

Trigger warning : A LOT of talk of rape
