Guess Again book by Charlie Donlea

Ten years after the disappearance of teenage Callie Jones, her cold case is reopened. Ethan Hall, former detective turned doctor, is asked to help. His old partner calls upon him since Ethan had a 100% success rate during his tenure. He wants to find closure for Callie’s family coming up on the 10 year anniversary. It helps that Callie’s father, now Governor Mark Jones, agrees to pay off Ethan’s student loans.

Ethan’s father, Detective Henry Hall, was killed by Francis Bernard, who’s been in prison for over 30 years. Ethan continuously goes to Francis’ parole hearings to make sure he doesn’t get out. Even though Francis was *only* convicted of murdering Henry Hall, Ethan believes he’s also responsible for the Lake Michigan Massacres. Eight teenage girls were found dead in the same gruesome way. Ethan’s girlfriend, Maddie Jacobson, is the one survivor of these massacres.

When Ethan meets with Bernard in prison, he gives Ethan clues to where Callie’s body is being held. And also information about another girl being held captive. In return, Francis Bernard wants Ethan and Governor Jones to move him to a different prison. He doesn’t want to be in isolation anymore. Ethan is forced to agree to Bernard’s wishes. Ethan wants to save the new girl and bring closure to the Jones family.

This book was very very good, as all Charlie Donlea’s books have been for me so far. I can’t wait to read more of them.
