Two months before 9/11, Victoria Ford is Suspect #1 in the murder of her boyfriend, married author Cameron Young. She’s in the North Tower at a meeting with her attorney when the first plane hits. Her attorney basically told her she’s in big trouble since the DNA evidence is compelling.

*20 Years Later* Victoria Ford’s DNA is found from the remains saved from 9/11. Avery Mason, host of American Events, is quite the little investigator. She finds that Victoria Ford’s DNA was recovered from a single tooth. This starts her wheels turning. She knows she will get big ratings from an episode about a technology identifying bodies from 9/11. But now she has the added allure of the fact that one victim was a murder suspect.

Avery Mason has secrets of her own. But we find out none of these secrets are a huge deal.

I loved other Charlie Donlea books but this one was definitely a disappointment. There was a lot going on but the only plot that mattered was the one about Victoria Ford. The “twists” were stupid and Avery was extremely unlikable.
