Caide and Rachael Abbott are married with two young kids. Caide works all the time and Rachael is resentful about it. When they do see each other, they fight. They fight about how often he works and how he’s never there for their kids. It doesn’t help that Caide is constantly cheating on Rachael. He is having an affair with his coworker, Blaire Underwood. When Blaire is found brutally murdered in their office, both the Abbott’s are under suspicion.

Rachael is shocked when she’s taken into custody for the murder of Blaire. Even though Caide has the choice to stand by his wife and prove her innocence, he chooses not to. He believes it’s possible that Rachael killed Blaire and he’s an idiot. Thank god her lawyer believes in her because he’s about the only one.

This was an easy read. A lot of twists and turns and I was constantly surprised. I love reading Kiersten Modglin books and can’t wait to read more.
