Becca Poe and Jared Austin Jenkins go to high school together in Georgia. Becca is kind of fucked up. She sets up a fellow student to antagonize Jared, knowing he can fly off the handle. When Jared beats him up, she gets it on video. Somehow this video is enough to blackmail Jared for life. Becca’s goal in life is to basically be a trophy wife or get rich while doing next to nothing.

Olive is a bartender who meets “Austin” AKA Jared Austin Jenkins. Her boss, Barry Gant, owns several bars across LA. Becca overhears that Barry keeps a lot of cash in his mansion. She blackmails Jared/Austin to start dating Olive to get closer to Barry. Her intent is to rob his home.

I have had this book on my TBR list for awhile since I loved the cover art so so much. The perfect blue background with a nice red martini in a perfect martini glass. But it definitely did not live up to the hype for me. I still don’t understand how Becca could keep Jared/Austin under her wing just because of a video of him beating someone up. It was years ago, get over it. This book was essentially a cat and mouse game with Becca eventually trying to kill Olive. There were a ton of proofreading errors that drove me nuts.
