Maggie is in love with her best friend Clayton Beckett. Just when she works up the courage to tell him how she feels, he gets a phone call. He has to go to Nashville because an agent wants to sign him. He’s a country music singer/songwriter. He goes and leaves Maggie heartbroken.

A year or so later, Clayton comes home for a visit. Maggie joins him at the bar and Clayton is engaged to a fellow songwriter named Raven. A bartender tries to help Maggie make Clayton jealous. His name is Tucker Ford and they dance while Clayton looks on.

Years later, Maggie has moved back to their hometown, Myers, a suburb of Chicago. Her mother died and left her an inheritance. She uses it to buy her dream house on the street she grew up on, Hemlock Drive. She finds that Tucker Ford lives next door. And Clayton lives back in Myers again too. Once again it’s a big love triangle between Maggie, Clayton, and Tucker.

This wasn’t my favorite Kiersten Modglin book but still a good ending. A little sappy for my taste. All the Clayton vs Tucker stuff got old fast. I still don’t understand why Clayton has such a hold on Maggie.
