Dani Matthews just had baby Charlotte and seems to be delicate since everyone keeps checking on her. Psychiatrist Ethan believes Dani is suffering from postpartum psychosis. She used to be a professional baker and had a huge following online. She’s making a birthday cake for husband Ethan’s daughter Sophie for her Sweet 16th. Orlaith is their Irish nanny.

Ethan’s ex wife and Sophie’s mom, Kim, seems to be a *little* bitter. When Kim lived in the house with Ethan, she knew of its history and the rumor that it may have been haunted. Legend has it that years ago “The Mother” jumped off the balcony after her baby died of an illness.

The book alternates between before and after the party and also from a few different POVs. Ethan is a skeeze and a terrible husband, father, psychiatrist and human. For most of the book I was planning on rating it 3/5 but the last chapter bumped it up to a 4/5.
