Dont Believe It

The book starts off with Julian Criss falling off a cliff in Sugar Beach, Saint Lucia. Fast forward 10 years and his girlfriend Grace Sebold is on trial for his murder.

Grace writes to old friend and filmmaker Sidney Ryan, maintaining her innocence. Sidney decides to make a “real time” documentary called The Girl of Sugar Beach. As Sidney makes this documentary, all signs point to Grace being innocent.

Retired Detective Gus Morelli is in the hospital, recovering from having his leg amputated. He sees The Girl of Sugar Beach on TV and reaches out to Sidney because he believes Grace to be guilty and connected to another murder case he dealt with years ago. So they kind of team up to figure it out.

The book was slightly predictable. Not my favorite Charlie Donlea by a long shot but not awful either. It was an easy enough read.
