Naomi Roth comes home one night with young son Teddy to find her locks were changed. Her husband Jeremy says he’s surprising her with a kitchen renovation. He’s packed her bags so she can go stay at the apartment that his parents used to live in. She can get it cleaned up then Jeremy and Teddy will join her. Obviously we know he wants a divorce and is kicking her out.

Well it’s a little more complicated than that. Yes Jeremy asks for a divorce. She refuses to go along with it, thinking she can fix her family. Eventually Naomi learns that Jeremy is seeing someone else. Naomi should listen to her lawyer Ezra Fletcher’s advice and be patient. But no. Up until this point I really empathize with her. But she starts doing some crazy things. Of course these things make her seem super unhinged and will effect her custody battle over Teddy.

The book is separated into 4 parts – alternating POV’s of Naomi and Veronica. Once we read from Veronica’s POV, things start to make more sense. At first I liked it but thought it was similar to Dear Debbie in that both were bitter divorced women trying to get back at their exes. But this one had a bit more going on. But I liked both.
